Visual array and design compositions.













This was a quick exercise done in class and we were asked to bring in any page of a magazine that shows both visual and calligraphic media. However, the page of the advert is not displayed here you would observe from the images below it was related in some way to a furniture. Also, a felt pen, 2 sheets each of white velum and 3 tracing paper. 
  
Step 1; Look closely at the desired page of the magazine placed before you and scrutinize it for colours, objects and items that stand out, then close your eyes and picture what you can see mentally.

Step 2; Open your eyes and place one of the velum sheets over the magazine page and draw a rectangle to border the object that seems to be most in the foreground.

Step 3; Place a sheet of tracing paper over the magazine page and draw out the outline of the major item(sofa) also, use an x to mark the spot that is inconspicuous.
 
Step 4; Place another velum sheet over the magazine page and draw vertical and horizontal plane.

Step 5; Place another tracing paper on the magazine and trace the outline of all the objects and items seen within the page.

Step 6; Place another tracing paper on the magazine and shade out the outline of the major object within page.
