TYPES OF BRICK BONDS





The first task of the semester was to walk around where we live and take pictures of five(5) different types of brick bonds. The image below shows the various types of Brick bonds around where i reside in Cheltenham i.e. Stretcher bonds, Header bonds, Flemish garden wall bond, English bond and English garden wall bond. 

1). Stretcher bonds:- This type of bonds are made up majorly of stretchers which are arranged or placed along each course. Location:- St. Paul's medical centre.

2). Header bonds:- This type of bonds are also made up majorly of headers and are arranged or placed along each course. Location:- Pillars of the honey bourne-line on St. pauls road.

3). Flemish garden wall bond:- In this type of brick bond, a header is placed at every third(3rd)
stretcher along a course. Location:- Shaftesbury hall fence.

4). English garden wall bond:- it is different from the Flemish garden wall bond in the fact that a header course is placed at every third(3rd) stretcher course. Location:- Royal well surgery.

5). English bond:- Each course is lined by header and stretcher bricks simultaneously(one after the other). Location:- Royal well surgery.
